The Faces of Homelessness in St. Thomas, USVI 1:00pm - 5:00pm November 12, 2006
|
This event is the kick-off for National Homelessness and Hunger Awareness Week which is
November 12 to 18, 2006. It will also be the finale event for National Nurse Practitioner's Week
(November 5 to 11). It is an arena to address the issues and concerns of the homeless
community in St. Thomas, USVI. We would like the general community, civic and church
organizations as well as any of our legislative representatives to attend. We would also like our
medical community to participate with the health screenings, eg. Blood pressure, blood sugar,
HIV screening, mental health assessments etc. It is essential that we have all parties concerned
with this problem because homelessness and hunger affects the entire community. We are trying
to create a venue where we can begin to discuss long term resolutions to this issue.
